The CLRS Journal of Global Justice & Governance [ISSN 3949-1940] is a diamond open-access journal focused exclusively on Global Justice and Global Governance. Published by the Centre for Legal Research and Studies, the journal aims to provide a platform for high-quality, peer-reviewed legal research that addresses key global issues through a legal lens.
The journal focuses exclusively on international law and its intersection with the concepts of global justice and governance. By offering a platform for rigorous legal analysis, the journal seeks to advance scholarly understanding of how international legal mechanisms can address the most pressing issues of our time, such as human rights abuses, environmental degradation, economic inequality, and international conflicts.
We are looking for experienced Academicians and professionals to join our Editorial Board. As a member of the editorial team, you will help shape the journal’s policies and directions, maintain its academic rigor, and contribute to the publication of cutting-edge research that addresses pressing issues in international law and governance.
Available Editorial Roles
- Managing Editor: Operational management and peer-review coordination.
- Associate Editors: Subject-matter specialists in the above-mentioned subjects.
- Section Editors: Responsible for specific sections such as research articles, case notes, or reviews.
- Publishing Editors: Associated with Language and technical editing.
Application Eligibility
- Only academicians and professionals are eligible. Contributions from students and research scholars are not permitted.
- Advanced degree in law or a related discipline (Ph.D., LL.M., or equivalent preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the journal’s focus areas
- Prior experience in academic editing, peer review, or journal management is preferred but not mandatory for all roles
- Strong familiarity with academic publishing standards and ethical practices.
- Active profiles on platforms such as Google Scholar, SSRN, or ResearchGate are preferred.
- Evidence of scholarly output, including up to 4 publications from the last 5 years (excluding articles published in journals where the applicant serves as an editor).
Core Roles & Responsibilities of Editors
1. Managing Editor: Oversee day-to-day editorial operations, coordinate workflows, and ensure compliance with publishing standards, assisted by student editorial board.
2. Associate Editors: Evaluate submissions in specialized areas, supervise peer reviews, and help student editors to collaborate with authors to refine manuscripts assisted by student editorial board.
3. Section Editors: Curate and manage content for specific sections, coordinate with reviewers, and ensure section quality and relevance assisted by student editorial board.
4. Ensure that all publications adhere to ethical practices, including plagiarism checks and conflict-of-interest disclosures
5. Promote the journal within academic and professional networks to attract high-quality submissions
6. Attend editorial board meetings and contribute to the journal’s strategic planning and development
7. Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of the peer-review process.
The journal will adhere transparently to all COPE guidelines for best practices, ensuring integrity and ethical standards in publishing. The Editorial Board will play a central role in guiding the journal's core decisions and shaping its academic direction. Unlike many journals where editorial board roles are often honorary, the Editorial Board of this journal will play an active, central role in all key decisions, contributing directly to the journal's strategic direction and maintaining the highest academic standards.
